Medical transport

Medical air transport to Israel

Medical air transport is not simply a different kind of ticket. It may be considered when standard commercial travel is unsafe, and it requires both clinical clearance and an operational plan.

What the transport team needs to know

  • Current diagnosis and medical summary.
  • Vital status, oxygen and mobility requirements.
  • Recent procedures and risk of deterioration.
  • Departure location and preferred destination.
  • Passport and visa status only when the route is being formally arranged.

Two separate approvals are required

First, the transport team must decide whether the patient is fit to fly and what staff, oxygen or equipment are required. Separately, the receiving hospital must agree to admission. Arranging the flight does not guarantee that acceptance.

Do not delay emergency care for an international transfer

If the patient is unstable or has emergency symptoms, contact local emergency services now. An international transfer request must not delay immediate treatment.

Send a medical request

Send the current medical summary, the departure location and the proposed destination. Please state clearly whether the patient needs oxygen, monitoring or help with mobility.
